Recent research has revealed compelling information relating oral infection (gum disease) and a host of systemic diseases, such as: heart disease, stokes, diabetes, Alzheimer's, respiratory disease, low birth-weight babies, and even several forms of cancer.  Untreated periodontal infection (gum disease) can lead to the onset of these disease processes.  Treating gum infection can improve your health and reduce your risk of heart attacks, developing diabetes, and many other diseases including cancers.

As a Center for Dental Medicine, Dr. Goodwin and the staff at A Dental Fitness Center are concerned about your total health and not just your oral health.  Our advanced treatment for gum disease utilizes advanced diagnostic testing including in-office "finger prick" blood testing for C-Reactive protein and HbA1c (screening for systemic disease infection and diabetes).

Our advanced periodontal care includes the use of a CO-2 laser to destroy bacteria in the pockets surrounding teeth helping to reduce infection and promote healing.  This minimally invasive non-surgical approach is a much kinder and gentler approach than traditional gum surgery and has demonstrated superior results.  Our comprehensive healthy gum therapy recommends new home care products and personal hygiene tools to help reverse the dangerous effects of gum disease.  We also include a nutritional supplement RX to help support the bodies immune system and provide necessary support for healthy tissue growth.
