Dr. J.C. Goodwin is an Arizona native with family
in the southwest since the 1870's. He credits his pioneer
legacy as having helped him develop a strong sense of family and
community which is evident in his volunteer work with the Kiwanis
for over twenty years and in the care he delivers in his practice as
well.
A 1984 graduate of the University Of Alabama School Of Dentistry, he
has a diverse professional background including three years of
public health dentistry on the Navajo reservation and has been in
private practice in Prescott, AZ since 1987. He organized the
first professional study club in Prescott and participated for
twelve years. Besides advanced training in comprehensive
dental rehabilitation, bonded ceramic restorations,
conservative cast gold restorations, cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Goodwin
has advanced training in laser surgery and holds fellowship status
with the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry. He
brought the first dental laser technology to Prescott in 2005.
Having completed many hundreds of laser procedures, his affiliation
with the Centers for Dental Medicine and the creation of a
"dental wellness" type practice, the first of its kind in
northern Arizona, was a natural and inevitable transition.
"I've thought for many years that laser technology should be
incorporated into the dental hygiene and prevention aspect of my
practice as well", he states.
Dr Goodwin is very pleased to now offer his patients a
comprehensive, effective, non-surgical gum health treatment protocol
including state of the art diagnostic tests and therapy techniques.
His patients will not only have better dental health, but will be
healthier systemically as well with lower risk for cardiac disease,
diabetes and other concerns. Dr. Goodwin’s cutting edge approach to patient
care proves the pioneer spirit is alive and well in the great
southwest.
His passion for innovation has led him to develop and patent a
dental instrument used to smooth and finish dental composite
(bonding) restorations. He hopes to have it marketed in 2010,
but, you may experience the benefit at your next visit.
